The Trust has recently been successful in securing funding to run an exciting communication and language project across all seven of our Nurseries over the next two academic years. The project is entitled “Improving speech, language and communication in Nursery to help children be school-ready.” As its name suggests, the aim of the project is to improve children’s speech, language and communication skills throughout their time in Nursery in order to get them off to a flying start in Reception. During recent years, we have seen a sharp increase in the number of children requiring referrals to speech and language services. As a Trust, we are hoping this project will help to reduce the number of children needing intervention.

The Trust is looking to recruit a Champion in each school who will drive the project forward with the enthusiasm, excitement and commitment it deserves starting 1st November 2021. The successful candidate must currently be working in a Nursery setting and will:

  • Have opportunities to be involved in shaping the content of the project in order to ensure it meets the needs of all Nursery pupils
  • Benefit from professional development and opportunities to network with other Nursery staff from across the Trust

Candidates will be expected to demonstrate that they are ready to take on the project and drive it forward within their setting and are asked to demonstrate their skills and experience that they will bring to the post. The successful candidate will need:
