Cover Assistant – to commence 1st September 2021.

Cover Assistant (Band 7) Spinal Column Points 8 – 11, £16,673.99 – 17,695.11 per annum (pro rata), 35 hours per week, term time only, including PD Days (195 days per year). This is a permanent post.

The school wishes to appoint an enthusiastic and committed Cover Assistant. This position would be to commence on 1st September 2021.

The successful candidate will supervise whole classes, across the school from Nursery to Year 6, undertaking pre-prepared activities provided by a teacher to address short term absences. The successful candidate will maintain order, keep pupils on task and ensure active learning is continued.

Candidates should be suitably qualified and experienced, possessing a NVQ level 3 or equivalent and having worked as a classroom or teaching assistant within a primary school, for a minimum of 2 years, have experience of working successfully and collaboratively with teachers to plan and deliver programmes of teaching and learning activities for classes and be able to meet the criteria detailed on the person specification.

The School is looking to recruit an enthusiastic and outstanding teacher to become the SENCo. The successful candidate, together with being a Classroom Teacher will:

  • Play a key role alongside the Headteacher in the development and management of the school provision for SEND (Special Educational Needs, including low PAG Pupil Premium and pupils with disabilities including medical needs).
  • Contribute to strategic school development planning and evaluation with specific responsibility for SEND.
  • Lead, develop and enhance the teaching practice of the staff in relation to SEND across the school.
  • Develop standards in accordance with best practice in identifying, assessing and meeting the needs of SEN pupils.
